Centrales de mobilité : Définition de la demande et de modèles d’affaire potentiels

The RATP is seeking to develop the concept of a “mobility centre”, understood as a place where different mobility services can be provided for the circulation of both people and goods. Although the term has been used in the field of urban planning in France for a number of years, projects often struggle to go beyond the format of car parks equipped with ancillary services. As soon as the operator’s ambition is to go beyond the format of the improved car park, the question of the exact services that a mobility centre could host and the characteristics that such a place should have remain open. In this context, Sens de la Ville and 6t-research office propose to accompany RATP in the translation of this concept into a concrete object.

For this, the study will first identify the services that could benefit from central locations but not necessarily on the surface, as well as the possible mutualisations between them. It will also aim to identify how a mobility centre differs from mobility hubs or car parks equipped with services. Finally, the study will aim to define viable economic models for such structures. Two Parisian sites where RATP is positioned will serve as concrete case studies.
