Mobility Panel for Greater Geneva

On December 15, 2019, the opening of the Léman Express train network and the Annemasse tram, along with the reorganisation of ancillary transit networks, will offer a major improvement of public transit service in Greater Geneva. This new transit network should greatly contribute to transforming mobility patterns and behaviors in the cross-border metro area. This is at any rate the hope of a large number of transport and urban planning stakeholders in the region.

In this context of large scale changes, 6t built a partnership with the Greater Geneva metropolitan council, the TPG transit agency and the ATMB highway network in order to observe and measure the evolution in mobility behavior and the corresponding urban form transformations. A longitudinal study of a representative sample of each sector of the Greater Geneva population. This “Mobility Panel for Greater Geneva” will be surveyed right before the opening of the new transit network, and once again with the same sample later in 2020 after a few months of operation, yielding important insights on the impact of the Léman Express.
