Season 9: The Individual Car

The individual car very quickly transformed travel habits and in particular the relationship of individuals to space. Like the radio, the refrigerator or the television, it has occupied and still occupies a very important place in the pop culture of many Western countries: in the cinema, on television, in the music industry...

However, after having fed many fantasies, the car is gradually becoming part of increasingly urgent environmental and social issues. Today, we are led to question the place of this mode of transportation in our consumption habits and more generally in our society.
This new series of "Lost in Transportation" offers 4 episodes dedicated to the individual car, a means of transportation at the heart of our lifestyles but which presents more and more environmental and social challenges

Episode 4: And the voiturfu

The automobile, an emblem of progress throughout the twentieth century, is today confronted with increasingly pressing environmental, urban and social challenges. Even if we can hope for a reduction in car use to a minimum in the decades to come, under the impetus of public policies and a scarcity of resources, it would be illusory to believe in a total disappearance of this mode. If it is to survive in this new paradigm, the car must reinvent itself. In any case, this is what the powerful car manufacturers will be forced to do, at the risk of seeing their empire collapse. So if the car has a future, what future? What will the car of tomorrow look like?
